We are looking for field interviewer/enumerators from all states in Malaysia.
The Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC), University of Malaya are currently conducting a nationwide longitudinal study on ageing called “Malaysia Ageing and Retirement Survey (MARS)”. MARS is a mega project and part of the gateway to Global Ageing Data, together with its sister studies i.e. HRS, KLoSa, JSTAR, CHARLS, SHARE, etc. The main objective of MARS is to tackle various issues on ageing, i.e. health, healthcare utilisation, psychosocial, income and consumption, family support and transfer, etc. In Malaysia, we are targetting to recruit 9000 respondents aged 40 years & above, which will be nationally representative of our population. And we are the first one to be using Complex Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) in Malaysia.
This would be ideal for students, interns, and graduating students as this will provide a training platform for their soft skills development. Addresses have been provided by the Dept. of Statistics, Malaysia, and enumerators are expected to approach the household and interview all the eligible respondents.
Free training and workshops will be conducted on 9th October 2018 – 11th October 2018 at University of Malaya.
The training will be focusing on etiquette of research in conducting interviews with older people and general interviewing using Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI).
Training accommodation will be provided.
Data collection is expected to commence from 12th October 2018.
